Tour Stop in Malmö

Malmö is situated in the South of Sweden, only one hour by coach or train away from Copenhagen. In Sweden, there was a referendum in 1980 for a very long-term end of nuclear power. Since then, this was delayed further and recently the parliament has okayed the replacement of old reactors, therefore both old and new reactors will keep running. Formerly Sweden had some uranium activities which had been finished some time ago. Since the new run on uranium, several hundred new sites are explored for their suitability for uranium mining. North-east of Malmö, some 350 kilometers away, the Oskarshamn NPP is situated and some 200 kilometers north-west of Malmö the NPP Ringhals is located by Varberg. The closed NPP Barsebäck is situated only about 20 kilometers north of Malmö.

The Baltic Sea Info Tour will stop from August 3-5 in Malmö. After these three days of activities the participants of the infotour will have two resting days in the region for recreation. Anyway, we will provide a public information event, a public street action and a regional network gathering here.

• Monday (Aug 2): travelling from the previous stop in Copenhagen to Malmö
• Tuesday - Thursday (Aug 3-5): STOP in Malmö
• Friday - Saturday (Aug 6-7): resting days

• 17:00 Andrey Ozharovskiy talks about the situation and the resistance in Russia and Belarus.

• 19:00 Klara Sager explains the uranium-chain in Swedish, and she also shows 13 minutes from her documentary shot in Jämtland (Sweden).
• 20:00 Falk Beyer talks abouts German resistance, and shows the documentary Castor, an inspiring documentary about local resistance.

August 4th:

• 17:00-21:00 Networking with invited local organisations, with a dinnerpause in between.

August 5th:

• 15:00 Streetaction against E-on

Other Information about the Malmö Stop

• The school were we are gonna stay is called Kvarnby Folkhögskola. During the days we will be in a house called "the red house" inside Malmö, at Industrigatan 4. The school´s sleeping facilities is located 10 minutes, by bus outside Malmö. To get there you take city bus number five towards Kvarnby.
